Dr. Skyler Jennings-Cook, MSSHP, DC
Social Media Manager
Originally from the wide-open plains of West Texas, Skyler’s passion for connecting with and supporting communities has shaped both her education and career. She earned her degree from the University of Texas at Austin before completing her Doctorate and Master’s degrees at Parker University in Dallas.
Now working as a prenatal and pediatric chiropractor, Skyler blends her expertise in holistic health with a love for communication and design. She understands how important it is for families to feel seen, supported, and informed, and she uses social media as a tool to extend that mission. Expecting her first baby in October, she brings not only professional insight but also a personal connection to the motherhood journey.
At Rooted Birth Initiative, Skyler’s role as Social Media Manager allows her to amplify the organization’s voice, share meaningful stories, and create engaging content that connects families with the resources, care, and community they deserve. She’s passionate about building an online presence that feels warm, accessible, and empowering.

Dr. Alexis Gabel, DC
Director of Education
Originally from Keithville, Louisiana, just south of Shreveport, Dr. Alexis grew up with two big dreams—to become a doctor and to be a mother. After graduating from C.E. Byrd High School, where she played softball and cheered, she went on to study at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before earning her Doctorate from Parker University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Alexis has had the privilege of serving families across both Louisiana and Texas. Her passion lies in empowering women and expecting mothers with knowledge and resources to help them experience healthier, more fulfilling lives. As
Rooted Birth Initiative’s Director of Education, she brings that same dedication to creating supportive, accessible learning opportunities for families and birth professionals alike.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. Alexis is deeply committed to service, actively volunteering her time to support families in need through community outreach and nonprofit efforts.

Dr. Bridget Turney, MS-SSR, DC
Head of Fundraising
​Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Bridget still loves going back home to get her fix of toasted ravioli and thin crust pizza. From a young age, she knew she wanted to help others and grow her passion for movement and holistic wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of Louisville before returning to St. Louis to complete her Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation at Logan University.
Dr. Bridget has always had a heart for empowering others—especially children. With a background in coaching youth sports, she has a natural ability to connect with kids on their level and inspire them with tools for lifelong success. Today, that same passion fuels her work in both healthcare and community service, where she is dedicated to creating spaces that are safe, supportive, and empowering for all.
As Rooted Birth Initiative’s Fundraising Coordinator, Dr. Bridget is excited to channel her energy and vision into building strong connections and resources that allow families and birth professionals to thrive.
Outside of her work, you can find her exploring Austin’s hidden gems, playing sand volleyball or pickleball, or in a pilates, yoga, or boxing class. Driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact, Dr. Bridget brings both enthusiasm and heart to everything she does.

Dr. Yael Hauck, DC
Community Engagement Director
Originally from Central Mexico, Dr. Yael moved to the United States to pursue her education, first attending Baylor University before earning her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Parker University. Inspired by her passion for holistic health and her desire to help families thrive, she chose chiropractic as a way to bring natural healing and balance into people’s lives. She believes wellness is about more than relief from pain—it’s about creating lasting vitality for the whole family. Outside the clinic, Dr. Hauck is an avid yogi and a creative hobbyist who enjoys sewing, crocheting, cooking, and all things crafty. When she isn’t working on a new project, she can be found spending time with her husband and their two pups, soaking up the simple joys of life. With a heart for healing and a commitment to family-centered care, Dr. Hauck is dedicated to helping every patient feel at home on their journey to wellness.
As Rooted Birth Initiative’s Community Engagement Director, I want to build strong relationships with community partners to ensure low-income mothers receive the support and resources they deserve. I aim to increase awareness of our mission through outreach events, partnerships, and meaningful conversations that connect families to our services. I hope to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where mothers feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey. Ultimately, my goal is to expand our reach so that every mother in need knows Rooted Birth is here to uplift and advocate for her.

Dr. Monica Marron, DC
Social Media Content Creator
Born and raised in Houston, TX, where her passion for caring for others and
supporting families first took root. She attended Texas Chiropractic College
earing her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and her Doctorate of
Chiropractic, building a strong foundation in evidence-based, family-centered chiropractic care. As a prenatal and pediatric chiropractor, Dr. Monica is known for her compassionate approach and her natural ability to be a soundboard for friends, family, and patients. After welcoming her first child, she gained firsthand insight into the physical and emotional toll that pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood can place on the body. This personal experience deepened her commitment to providing accessible chiropractic care for moms and children who need it most.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Monica serves as the Social Media Content Creator for Rooted Birth. Through this role, she shares educational content thatempowers families with knowledge about chiropractic care, holistic health, and the importance of supporting the body through every stage of motherhood. She loves using this platform to break down complex information, offer encouragement, and build community. Grateful to be part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding care to underserved families, Dr. Monica feels honored to contribute her skills,
experience, and heart to a mission that aligns with her values.
